Meaning
What private label means at Labderma
The term private label is used broadly across the cosmetics industry. At Labderma, our custom private-label route means that we develop the product around your brief rather than simply placing your brand on a standard catalogue formula. We define the product concept, develop the formulation and prototypes, plan the relevant testing and prepare the technical documentation required for the project.

Development
From brief to formulation
We start with the intended user, target market, product format, sensory profile, active ingredients, packaging concept and commercial positioning. The laboratory then develops prototypes and refines the formulation until the agreed performance and sensory characteristics are reached.
Documentation
Testing and documentation
Once the formula is approved, we plan the testing and documentation required for that specific product. For products developed with us, the PIF/CPSR process is integrated into the project rather than treated as an afterthought.
Manufacturing
Manufactured in the EU
Our head office is in Ljubljana and our production facility is in Slovenia. Keeping development, technical documentation and manufacturing within one working system makes it easier to control changes from the first prototype to the first commercial batch.

For an exclusive custom-development project, formulation ownership and use are agreed as part of the project, and the formula is not offered to other brands.
